Why could I use an eBook yesterday but today it is blocked?
Limited access titles in the R2 collection are available up to a max of 3 times.
Answer
The library provides limited access to some titles in our R2 collection. By limited, it means that our customers can look at the content three times, after which the content is blocked. In that case, a librarian can either look for a similar title for you in our permanent collection, we can acquire a few chapters from the book, or you can suggest that we purchase the title. Receipt of your suggestion is not a promise to purchase.
There are also titles that limit how many people can use a book at the same time. For these titles, try again a bit later. If you find that access is being blocked at multiple times, please let library staff know, so we may investigate. We may need to add additional copies.
Some books we have purchased; these are retained in the collection permanently. Other books are available on a subscription basis, and access may disappear when our subscription runs out. In this case, we endeavor to quickly remove the titles from OneSearch.
Please let us know whenever you have access questions. The library team is here to help.
