How Do I Use the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) Tool to Request Permission for Copyrighted Works?
Answer
If you are seeking permission to use copyrighted work(s), you will want to search the RightFind Advisor Tool to learn about the permissions attributed to the copyrighted work. Below is the recommended order of steps to take when looking up a journal to determine the level of permissions granted.
- Login to RightFind Advisor or Create a New Account
- You have 2 options: "Already Registered?" (Sign In) or "New User?" (Create Account)
- RightFind Advisor - look up a publication to determine permissions allowed; if you are unable to locate title of journal or article title, proceed to step 2
- Not finding what you need using the RightFind Advisor? Your next bet is to try Marketplace. Submit an order for your request in Marketplace. Using the Marketplace will incur a cost (we are currently assessing if there is a limit to the cost the library may incur if to be paid by library).
